Universities Model Parliament is a fantastic opportunity to experience the inner workings of the Canadian parliamentary process. From January 5 to 8, 2012, delegates from across the province will gather in the British Columbia Legislature to simulate federal parliament. Over the course of the four-day conference, delegates will be acquainted with the functional aspects of Canadian government, be immersed in meaningful debate over public policy, be engaged in research, and will create lifelong friendships with like-minded individuals. On the final day of the conference, delegates will have the chance to participate in carrying out fun resolutions that present a lighter side to political discourse. With the recent changes in parliament resulting from the election in May 2011, this years UMP promises to be a unique and exciting experience that you will not want to miss!
