How to install SAS 9.1.

3 in Windows Vista
These instructions list the method released by SAS in July 2007 to install SAS 9.1.3 in Windows Vista Business and Ultimate versions, Home versions are not supported. More information can be found at http://support.sas.com/techsup/pcn/vista.html 1. After the Self extracting zip files has extracted all files, close the step program that automatically launches. 2. Locate setup.exe for SAS base install The default for the self extracting file is c:\temp\NCSU_TR\disk1\setup.exe 3. Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows. 4. Click Next

5. Select I want to select the program manually Click Next

6. Click Browse Then navigate to the location as defined in step 1. If you left it as the default it should look the same as the image below. Click Next"

7. Select Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Click Next

8. On this screen, select any special display settings. None are need for SAS so most likely you do not needed to select anything on this screen. Click Next

9. Check Run this program as an administrator SAS must be run as an Administrator in order to be installed. This must be selected. Click Next

10. Review the options that have been selected. Click Next

11. The SAS installer should start at this point. While selecting the license file, make sure the .txt extension shows up. If the ending does not come up automatically after browsing to the file, add it manually. Follow the standard directs as if you were installing SAS in Windows XP 12. Run SAS in Windows Vista.
