Presentations that Inspire

Maureen Wideman, PhD UOIT

Weve all seen PowerPoint presentations that are just words on the screen or a series of bulleted points that go on and on and on. They are hard to read or there are so many words on the screen that it is just too much effort to try and read them. Therefore, students dont bother trying to read what is on the screen but just listen to the teacher read the text off the screen. So, if the teacher is going just read the words off the screen, why bother having the teacher present? What is the value of the presentation?
