DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, series of connected organs whose purpose is to break down, or digest, the food we eat. Food is made up of large, complex molecules, which the digestive system breaks down into smaller, simple molecules. Simple molecules travel through the bloodstream to all of the body's cells, which use them for growth, repair, and energy.

Digestive System, series of connected organs
whose purpose is to break down, or digest, the food we eat. Food is made up of large, complex molecules, which the digestive system breaks down into smaller, simple molecules that can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The simple molecules travel through the bloodstream to all of the body's cells, which use them for growth, repair, and energy. THE HUMAN DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
This consists of following Organs:
2. Mouth 2.Oesophagus 3.Stomach 4.Small Intestine 5. Large Intestine 1..MOUTH: The Mouth contains tongue, teeth and salivary glands.Digestion of food begins in the mouth.
2.OESOPHAGUS: It is a connecting tube between the mouth and
the stomach. It helps to pass the food from the mouth to the stomach. 3.STOMACH: Stomach is a bag like structure. In the stomach the food is mixed with gastric juice secreted by the gastric glands of the stomach. 4.SMALL INTESTINE: It is the longest part of the stomach in which food is mixed with bile juice and pancreatic juice. It also absorbs nutrients from the food. 5.LARGE INTESTINE: It is the last organ which helps in absorbing water and in removing undigested solid wastes from the body in the form of faeces through an opening called anus.
