GRAMA SEVA FOR HUNGER-STRICKEN VILLAGE OF CIPANJALU (2ND PHASE):

• Under the initiative of Sai Study Group Jakarta and supported by Sai Study Group
Bandung; Sai Council Indonesia again organized a second phase grama seva for the

communities in the hunger-stricken village of Cipanjalu (Cilengkrang district in Bandung). click on the embedded attachment
for the previous report.
• The event took place on Sunday, 17th September 2006 and was attended by 100 Sai
volunteers (70 from SSG Jakarta & 30 from youth vikas SSG Bandung).
• As many as 500 families benefitted from this grama seva, where each family received the
following basic daily necessities:
o Rice: 10 kgs.
o Brown/Palm sugar: 2 kgs.
o Salt: 1 kg
o Cooking oil: 2 liters
o Clothing: 1 set.
o Shawl: 1 pc
o Powder milk: 2 boxes.
o Green beans: 3 kgs.
o Black sticky rice: 3 kgs.

• Additional Observations:
o 7 (seven) trucks were needed for transporting supplies from Jakarta to
Bandung.
o Sevadals from Sai Study Group Jakarta started as early as 5 am in the
morning to be able to reach the destination at the appointed time.
o The seva which were also attended by several Council office bearers
(including Bro. Mohan Mirpuri – senior advisor for Sai Council Indonesia)
commenced at 10.20 and ended at 14.20 (the distribution to 500 families
took four hours).
o A total of 600 carton boxes were prepared. 500 cartons were distributed
and the remaining 100 packs will be utilized for further seva distribution in
the near future.
o Total packages prepared were 600 packs, while the distributed items were
500 packs. The remaining 100 packs will be utilized for further seva in
near future.
