Smart water management system is a

solution for the problem of water wastage which is mainly associated with the apartments, where people store water everyday for the fear of water insufficiency and when they get adequate water for the day use, and then they empty the whole reserve into the drains which creates huge amount of water wastage. To overcome this problem there is an efficient way which is smart water management system. Smart water management system is the system which makes the apartments resident to use the water very efficiently and smartly as per their needs. This system allows the residents to store their water along with their neighbors in a common overhead tank. This assures him that his water is reserved for him and he can easily use his part of water by a smart card inserted in the system which possesses a unique identity for water transaction.

III. SYSTEM DESIGN The whole system is divided into parts and description as follows: 1. Smart card reader actually reads the data of the customer card and it gives the input to the controller unit.

2. Controller unit actually reads the password and allows user to type the water he needed for that day use and make the adjustments in the water flow regulator such that it allows only decided amount of water.

II. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS Estimation for a single flat 1. USB based smart card system 2. Microcontroller unit with keyboard

3. Water flow regulator takes water from the overhead tank and give to the house as only to that extent which the controller say it to.

4. The amount the user would use the water can also be seen in the flow meter attached to tap.
