CLINICAL APPLICATION 1.

intracranial angiography

Roentgenography of the blood vessels within the cranial cavity following the intravascular injection of a radiopaque material.

2. Pulmonary angiography A pulmonary angiography is a procedure that uses a special dye (contrast material) and x-rays to see how blood flows through the lungs. Angiography is an imaging test that uses x-rays and a special dye to see inside the arteries. Arteries are blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart. 3.ABDOMINAL ANGIOGRAPHY Abdominal angiography is now performed less frequently because in many cases it has been replaced by less invasive procedures (such as ultrasound, CT scanning, and ERCP) that make it possible to detect tumors and other abnormalities directly. However, it may still be performed when it is necessary to actually visualize the blood traveling through the arteries and veins of the abdomen, or to provide greater anatomical detail than these other tests can provide.

4 Interventional angiography The surgical repair of a blood vessel. A balloon angioplasty is a noninvasive procedure where a balloon-tipped catheter is introduced into a diseased blood vessel. As the balloon is inflated, the vessel opens further allowing for improved flow of blood
