Single sex schools should be abolished

Against
Parents pay a lot of money for their children s education not to be distracted by the other gender. NO peer pressure : no gender discrimination in school. Students would get equal right in their education. For many students, having not to worry about impressing the other gender is a good Idea, so more concentration on their studies. This type of schools would also have the effect of preventing some teen pregnancies since there would be less exposure to the opposite sex on a daily basis ( I think this might goes with yours anika but if it doesn t go into yours, I will use it ) For example, some young men today often find that their more boisterous behavior creates problems in certain classrooms or for certain teachers. Simply , some young woman as they enter their teenage years start doing less well at school because they fear the social consequences of appearing too intelligent.

Competition
By having competitions you would want to prove yourself right. Your sex is better! Want to prove a point. Because girls and boys have different likes, sports could be chosen for the right sex and not because that gender can t do it. You could also prove to the other sex that you can do (some) the same things as they sports wise.
