    Convenient in applications where the rack has reciprocal motion.

    DEFINITION OF :
    I.ADDENDUM
    Addendum is the radial distance between the pitch circle and the outside diameter or the height of the tooth above the pitch.

    II.DEDENDUM
    Dedendum is the radial distance from the pitch circle to the bottom of the tooth space.

    III.PITCH DIAMETER

    Pitch circle is the circle through the pitch point having its centre at the axis of the gear.

    IV.ADDENDUM CIRCLE
    The diameter of the top circle.

    V.DEDENDUM CIRCLE
    The diameter of the root circle.

    SPUR GEAR HAS PITCH DIAMETER 80mm AND 34mm TEETH,CALCULATE : MODUL : M=PD/N 88/34 =2.35mm PITCH CIRLE : CP=xM x2.35

    =7.38mm ADDENDUM : A=M =2.35mm

    OUTSIDE DIAMETER : OD=(N+2)M (34+2)M (36)x2.35 =84.6mm DEDENDUM : D =(1.666)M (1.666)x2.35 =3.915mm
