Vietnam Update Day

October 6th, 2011 Vietnams ambassador to the Netherlands, His Excellency Huynh Minh Chinh, opened the first Vietnam Update Day that was hosted by Holland Gateway on the 6th of October. The ambassador made clear that the economic ties between the Netherlands and Vietnam are becoming stronger. The growing interest from both the public and private sector to become active in Vietnam are clearly indicative of this stronger bond, the ambassador remarked. Vietnam Update Day was organized to inform entrepreneurs about the increasing economic potential of Vietnam and to provide them the opportunity to get in touch with firms with similar interests. The event was the initiative of the Vietnamese embassy in the Netherlands, Holland Gateway and H&T Consultancy. After the remarks of the Vietnamese ambassador, a representative of the Economic and Trade Office of the embassy presented the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Vietnam. Tran Xuan Thuyen subsequently gave a presentation on the Vietnamese business culture. Machiel van Gogh, who is already active as an entrepreneur in Vietnam, held a story about the importance of engaging Vietnamese employees in a business operation.
