Textured Stripes Cowl

Materials: 2 skeins of Red Heart Collage (I used the colorway Tundra) or any worsted weight self striping yarn will do H (5mm) hook Yarn needle Gauge: Not important

Stitches used (This pattern uses American terminology): sl st slip stitch sc single crochet dc double crochet bpsc back post single crochet. Insert hook from back, around the stitch below, YO, pull through, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook. Note: This is worked in rounds, do not turn. Instructions: Chain a multiple of 4 (I chained 136), then sl st to first ch. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 2 st, ch 1, skip next st, [dc in next 3 st, ch 1, sk next st] repeat all the way around, sl st into ch 3. Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1st chain/skipped space), skip next st, bpsc, ch 1, skip next st, sc, [ch 1, skip next st, bpsc, ch 1, skip next st, sc] repeat all the way around, sl st into 1st ch.

Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until you reach the size you want, ending with round 1. I made my cowl quite tall so I could really bunch it up and keep my neck warm, but I could cover my ears too if needed on an extra cold day.
