Dear Sir:
At a regular meeting of the Ferndale City Commission heilid on Monday,
September 24, 1956, the following official actionwas taken:
"Communication received from Mr. Hugh J, Conley of 461 E. Woodland
objecting to right-hand turns off Livernois on toW, Woodland and
W, Oakridge, between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 7:00P.M., and further
states he feels that this sets up East-siders against West-siders,
(class against class),
Mr. Dale Edwards, President of the Woodland Park Improvement
Association addressed the Commission, stating that if it was the
Ferndale City Commission's desire, such Association would try to poll
the residents of this area to see if their feelings on this subject were
in favor of removing existing restrictions,
Motion by Commissioner Jennings supported qy Commissioner Edwards
that this matter be referred to the Police Department for study,
past experience to be taken under consideration, and report back to the
Commission with recommendation. Also that the invitation of the Woodland
Park Improvement Association to take a poll, be accepted and the Lincoln
Civic Association be invited to take similar action.
