Grants Accountant
This position is responsible for reconciliation of accounts, preparing and collecting receivables and grant financial reports distribution to employees and agencies. The incumbent performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures, and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments. Team: Administrative Reports to: Finance Director Salary Status: Non Exempt from Overtime Responsibilities/Duties: Prepares and sends invoices Performs drawdown function from funding agencies Reconciles bank statements and daily deposits Reconciles grant accounts Reconcile general ledger accounts as necessary Calculates indirect and prepares journal entries Enters and updates program budgets Provides monthly and as needed reports to program managers Reconciles petty cash Other duties as assigned Salary: $22.00 starting per hour Schedule: Full Time 40 hrs per week

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail is of utmost importance. Must have excellent ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate well with employees and management. Good attendance and work habits is mandatory. Must be proficient in basic math. Extensive knowledge of excel and 10-key helpful. Experience and/or education in accounting principles preferred. Experience Requirement: Two years accounting clerk experience preferred. Three years office experience preferred. Education Requirements: Highschool diploma or equivalent, education in accounting preferred. Current Alaska Drivers license. Performance standard Regularly sit for long periods of time to complete tasks. Regularly bend, crouch, stand, move about to complete work. Typically lifts 15 lbs to coordinate work. Regularly manipulate electronic data to gather, input and otherwise coordinate work.
Regularly use mental, oral and written methods to complete work. Regularly use mathematical and linear thinking skills to provide accurate, literate work.

Environmental Factors Work will be completed in an administrative office, Exposure to typical office equipment including copiers.
