Appendix - B Practical Exercises

NOTE: This appendix contains proposed solution for Practical Exercises describe in Appendix A of this book. The parts needed for this solutions are included in the mobile laboratory workstation TP-101. Participants in this training are encourage to create their own circuit design and compare with the proposed solution. Later at each exercise, copy of Proposed Solution for each exercise will be provided. The participants should discover solutions to the problem exercise as part of the training.

REMOVAL OF A SINGLE WORK PIECES FROM A DROP MAGAZINE

Using a single-acting cylinder, work pieces are to be fed into a jig from a gravity magazine. The piston rod is to extend when a push button is pressed, and return to the start position when the push button is released. (Direct Control)

TOGGLE LEVER CLAMP The clamping of a work piece is to be controlled by either of 2 push buttons. A further push button is to control de-clamping.

Title Description CEMENTING PRESS A push button is to control the forward stroke. After the piston rod has reached the forward end position, the components are to be pressed together for 5 seconds then the piston rod is to return automatically to the initial position.

A new start signal may only become effective after the initial position has been reached and after the push rod has been released. The return stroke must occur even if the start push button is still pressed.
