Parashuram Kund also known as Kuthar is one of the important pilgrim places of the Northeastern India. On every Makar Sankranti (14th January), thousands of Hindu devotees throng their way to wash their sins away. According to the legend recorded in Kalika Purna, Parashuram washed away his sins of killing his mother in the water of Brahmakund. Shiv Temple is situated at Tezu, the HQ of the district. About 2 kilometers south-east of the Tamreswari temple, the Shiv temple was discovered. One of the structure enshrined, is a solid cube made up of granite, the other structure is a cylindrical base, whereas the remaining were made up of bricks of awkward shape, well burnt and having metallic sound. Tamreshwari temple is situated near Sadiya in the Lohit dist. The roof of the temple was originally sheeted with cooper hence the name Tamreshwari. The compound wall of the temple was 4 feet wide and 8 feet high, and had a stone gate on the eastern side. The temple was the seat of Goddess Kesaikhati and it was worshipped by the Deuri priests. Tezu is situated in the lower reach of the river Lohit. Its religious places are crowded by the Hindu pilgrims across the globe during the auspicious period of Makar Sankranti day for a sanctified bathe. Namsai is the oldest and major town of the district situated in the vicinity of the river Lohit. Tourist crowds this town to buy the Buddhist artifacts and handlooms. Chongkam is a massive and prosperous village that was once conferred as the richest village in Asia. It is also famous for the Buddhist Pagodas created by the famous architects from Myanmar and Thailand. KAMLANG WILDLIFE SANCTUARY covers an area of 783 sq Km. the wildlife that can be seen here are hoolock gibbon, tiger, red panda, takin etc. Tamladu is celebrated by the Mishmis (Digaru Mishmis & Miju Mishmis) on 15th of February. During these festival prayers are offered to the god of earth and the god of water for protection against natural calamities. Kacheng Aluwang is a traditional dance performed by the Khamptis of Lohit district. It is usually performed during the time of various festivals. This dance depicts their traditional way of welcoming a guest.
