LHirondelle Burgmuller

Burgmuller: Johann Friedrich Franz Burgmller Born on 4th of December 1806 in Regensburg, Germany. Died on 13th February 1874 in Paris. Family were also musically engaged. Father was a theatre music director. Moved to Paris in 1832, adapted Parisian style. Renowned for light style playing. Composed stage works. Composed two ballets: La Peri and Lady Harriet. Wrote salon music.

LHirondelle Allegro non troppo = fast but not too fast. LHirondelle = The Swallows Crescendo = gradually becoming louder. Funny bass clef = an old version of the bass clef used until the 1970s (often in hymnals). Staccato = short and detached. Piano = softly. Dolce = sweetly and softly. Diminuendo = gradually becoming softer. Poco ritenuto = slow down a little. In G major. In common time, simple quadruple. written in romantic era (early 19th century, with Chopin)
