SWC/Initial Operations Apprenticeship Vacancy

Caterpillar Peterlee are currently seeking an Advanced SWC/Initial Operations Apprentice Background/Experience required for the above:5 GCSE Grades A-C inclusive of English, Maths and Science subjects Chosen candidates must be keen and reliable and have an interest in this field of work Good attitude and communication skills essential, plus the willingness to learn Experience in engineering would be an advantage, for example, NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations (PEO), Performing Manufacturing Operations (PMO), BTEC National in Engineering, GCSE in Engineering related subject ICT skills are an advantage Job Requirements The Apprentice will specialise in the following disciplines: CNC, CADCAM programming with multiple software packages and licences CNC pressbrake forming, sheetmetal laser cutting, thick plate laser cutting with bevel technology High definition plasma cutting with bevel technology, material surface preparation processes This position requires a candidate with a positive attitude towards learning and working safely and that is able to adapt well to change and is always trying to continuously improve skill and knowledge base

Candidates will be required to attend a days assessment centre in July 2012. On the job training will be provided by Caterpillar. Successful candidates must attend either block release or day release starting September 2012 to achieve a full advanced apprenticeship framework at NVQ Level 3, as directed by the chosen Training Provider or College.
