Creating a Line Chart in Excel


1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Open the file Quiz Trend # where # = your class period. Save your file on your USB drive with the name My Quiz Grades In the range B3:B6 type in your quiz scores (given you by your teacher) Highlight the range A2:C6. Click on the Insert tab.

6. Click on the Line Chart Button 7. Click on the Line with Markers chart style.

8. This will give you a chart with a legend and no titles. You will want to add titles, so click on the Layout tab and look at the Labels Group:

9. Click on the Chart Title button and select Above Chart

10. Type Grade Comparison for your title. 11. Click on Axis Title button and select Primary Horizontal Axis Title. Select Title Below Axis.

12. Name your Horizontal Title Quiz Name and format it for Bold and 14pt font size. 13. Click on Axis Title button and select Primary Vertical Axis Title. Select Vertical Title.

14. Name your Vertical Title Grade and format it for Bold and 14pt font size. 15. Finally, click on Legend and select Show Legend at Top.

16. Save your file again and submit it in e-Chalk.
