Dear Parents
It has been a wet and chilly start to the Summer Term but the children are settled and we are delighted to welcome two new families to St. Christopher's. This week we had two children leave the school site after school and walk home without their parents permission. Although the children got home safely, this caused much concern for both staff and the parents. Therefore, can I please remind you to inform us of your end of day travel arrangements so staff know which children have been given parental permission to leave the site, even if this is just to the waiting car. The safety of our children is paramount.

BURFORD PARTNERSHIP OF SCHOOLS YEAR 4 DANCE FESTIVAL

Congratulations to the Year 4 children who took part in the Dance Festival activity at Burford Secondary School on Monday. The children worked in groups with the other partnership schools and demonstrated good social and communication skills whilst sequencing sport movements to music including the theme from Chariots of Fire! It was great to see the children enjoying this festival - well done to you all!

It will soon be that time of year when you will need to be topping up or ordering new uniform. Please note that this can be ordered from Simply Schoolwear in the first instance via their website www.simplyschoolwear.co.uk or by telephoning 0800 404 6644. We have also been looking for an additional supplier (this will not be instead of Simply Schoolwear) and will advise you of further details in due course

We have now registered for Box Tops for Books scheme. This is an initiative from Nestle offering a wide range of new books from the leading childrens publisher Dorling Kindersley in exchange for tokens from the top of Nestle cereal boxes. Box Tops for Books supports the teaching of literacy, for example through the National Curriculum by providing a broad selection of books that inspire, teach, amuse and challenge. Many of the books on offer also relate to a wide range of other subjects such as history, geography and science so will contribute to learning across the curriculum. It takes as little as 10 tokens to get one book so the more tokens we collect the more books we can receive for school. If your family eats Nestle cereals, please remember to tear off the token on the top of the box and bring it in to school. Many thanks for your support

Many thanks for the vouchers you are sending in. Tesco for Schools will be available until the middle of May 2012. Again, please think of us and donate your vouchers to school. The collection box is outside the office.
