Why is x = 4 a vertical line? Well, there is a fact that any line which has an equation of x = some number will always be a vertical line. But the question is that why is that? For any value of y, x will always be x, meaning y could be from negative infinity to positive infinity, but x will be still 4. So if you plot those points, they will be perfectly a straight line perpendicular to the x axis.
