This course provides study the structural systems of the human body and the principles of human physiology.
The design of this course is to assist the student in understanding body organization at different levels, the importance of the bodys chemical constituents and processes, the organ systems involved with support and movement, and how these organ systems work together to maintain homeostasis.
It includes the study of structure, function, and related conditions and diseases of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems.

Mechanisms of Disease, Diagnosis, and Treatment Identify the structural levels of the human body. Identify the body planes and cavities including the regions of the abdominopelvic cavity. Explain the basic concepts of chemistry and the chemical changes as they relate to living matter. Explain the concept of homeostasis and how the body reacts to disturbances of this state. Identify the major components and functions of human cells, body tissues, and membranes. Identify the structures and functions of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems. Recognize common pathological conditions associated with these systems. 5/14/12
