VicechairJillTurgeonsaidtheparceloflandisaveryadvantageoussiteforafutureschool location.Shesaidthatthereislotsofbenefitstothesite,onebeingitscentrallocationinthe county. IhavegonetheremultipletimestomakesurethatIthoughtitwasinthebestinteresttothe countytopursue.Thisisasite,ifeveryoneknows,offSycolinRoadthatisreallylocated betweentwohighconcentratedpopulationareasofLeesburgandAshburn,ChairmanEric Hornberger(Ashburn)said.Easilyaccessiblebetweenboththosemajorareasandgettinga pieceofrealestateofwhichweknowwellover70percentofitisusablefor119acresforthis amountofmoneyisremarkablegivenitslocation. ThelandisdesignatedunderthenewlyapprovedSchoolBoardCapitalImprovementProgram forfiscalyears2013through2018.Thelandwillbeusedforfuturepublicschoolneedsinthe CIPyears. IthasaccessoffSycolinRoadandhaspotentialformultiplethingsincludingoneofthe thingstheboardisdiscussingandwillbediscussingforfuturesitingfortheMonroeTech Academy,Hornbergersaid.WhichIthinkmanyofusareexcitedtolookatandconsiderif thisisthebestlocationforthatandwhatkindofschoolexactlywewouldliketobuildonthis locationandtoserveourtechedneedsmovingforward. Theboardvoted801withKevinKuesters(BroadRun)absenttomoveforwardon purchasingtheland. 2
