In the second year of our Comenius / eTwinning project the students of the 5th grade have dealt with traffic and air pollution. This year our project was integrated with the environmental projects of KPE Argyroupolis. In the beginning we read the story The dirty village by Sophia Zarampouka, in which the Mayor and the inhabitants of a village are trying to find ways to clean the facades of their houses which
have been black because of air pollution. After that, the students watched a video about right traffic behaviour, studied the road signs and painted them. Then, they watched Power Point presentations and videos about the causes of air pollution , the effects and discussed about what we can do to find solutions to the problem. They were also informed by specialists
about the problem and finally presented it in their own ways. They made leaflets, painted T-shirts with environmental slogans, made a PPT, wrote a short story, quizzes and comics. In this e journal you can see all the work they have done and we hope you will enjoy it.
Stavroula Makaronopoulou Teacher of English Coordinator of the Comenius project for the Greek school.
