How to Start Customizing a HCM Header

On Personnel Administration transactions there is a header which contains some employee consolidated information (e.g. Employees name, Personnel Area, Personnel Number, etc.). It is possible to customize this header with the desired information or even include an employees picture.

On the following pages you will see a step-by-step to customize a HCM header.

Step One:
1) Open an Infotype in transaction PA20 or PA30. 2) Go system -> Status 2) Then you will obtain the related program (subscreen). On the following picture the program (subscreen) is /1PAPAXX/HDR_00288A

Step Two:
1) Open transaction SE38 2) Open the source code of the copied header. In our example it is /1PAPAXX/HDR_00288A. 3) Then you will obtain the table to change the headers fields and the header modifier. On the following picture the table is T588J and the header modifier 88

Step Three:
1) Open transaction SM31. 2) Open the table to change the header (In our example it is T588J). 3) Find the corresponding header modifier (In our example it is 88) and create/change/delete headers fields.

P.S.: If you need to change the datas display format you can set the field Conversion through table T552N. Example: Conversion = 07 , make this: Before > After - GJM > G.J.M. - ThChr > Th.Chr.
