JSC SibElektoMotor (SEM) Foundry has operated a Quality Management System in compliance with the requirements of this standard since 2004. Our system is certified by NQA and subject to regular audits.

JSC SibElektroMotor (SEM) Foundry manage their operations in accordance with the requirements of this standard since 2008. We are one of the few foundries in Russia that have a fully certified management system to this standard. Our team at SEMs care for the environment and customers can rest assured that all products manufactured at our facility are produced in an environmental friendly facility.

TECHNOLOGY

Continuous reinvestment in our production facilities has allowed SEM Foundry to become one of the Russian leaders of the foundry industry. Resent investments include absolutely modern melting and pouring shop (OTTO JUNKER GmbH melting and pouring furnaces), high-level-class Savelli s.r.l. sand plant and molding line, AHB cold-box-amin core-making machine, new laboratory equipment and tools. Experienced professionals with the latest technical equipment monitor and control the sand, melt and mold to assure high quality castings.

PRODUCT SELECTION - STANDARD LOADINGS (EN 124)

All iron covers are made to EU and Russian Standard Specifications EN124:1994 and GOST 3634-99. This specifications includes loading categories for certain application areas.

Group 1 (Class A15 minimum) >15 kN 1,5 tonn Area which can only be used by pedestrians and pedal cyclists. Group 2 (Class B125 minimum) >125 kN 12,5 tonn Footways, pedestrian areas and comparable areas, car parks and car parking decks. Group 3 (Class C250 minimum) >250 kN 25 tonn For gully tops installed in the area of curbside channels of roads which, when measured from the curb edge, extend to a maximum of 0.5m into the carriageway and a maximum of 0.2m into the footway. Group 4 (Class D400 minimum) >400 kN 40 tonn Carriageways of roads (including pedestrian streets), hard shoulders and parking areas, for all types of road vehicles.

Group 5 (Class E600 minimum) >600 kN 60 tonn Areas imposing high wheel loads, e.g. docks, aircraft pavements. Group 6 (Class F900) >900 kN 90 tonn Areas imposing particularly high wheel loads, e.g. aircraft pavements.

FROM DESIGN TO CASTING NO MORE 3 WEEKS!

SEMs Foundry has its own in house, on site pattern shop. This provides us with the quality patterns needed for excellent castings. Pattern making is a highly skilled occupation requiring a thorough understanding of foundry process and technology. Our pattern shop and full-time patternmaker allow us to provide our customers complete in-house facilities for pattern making. The pattern shop is also able to repair customer supplied tooling and prepare it for our sand casting process. This means that in addition to standard products we can provide bespoke castings to design from manufacturing drawings, repair and restore original castings, or reproduce castings where original patterns have been lost, damaged or destroyed. We are using 3-D CAD-CAM systems and high level equipment such as 4-axis CNC-center by HAAS , 3-axis CNC-centers by Micron, CNC-turners by Daewoo and Doosan, EPM by Sodick, Mitsubishi etc.
