Welcome to Jr.K!
Hooray! Its finally here! The school year has begun and Im so excited! We have so many fun things to do and learn! These first few weeks are typically a little rough for everyone as we adjust to our school routine. Helping your child get to bed early and getting up in time to have a good, healthy breakfast will go a long way toward a successful school day. The Keeping Kids Safe Class will be offered at the times/dates listed in the Upcoming Events section below. All adults that will be working with the children (on field trips and the like) are required to take this class annually. Thank you for your participation!

Say hello to

Allie alligator!

This week we will make it through most of the alphabet while also focusing on Allie and the letter a. Have your child help you search in your own home for anything that begins with the letter a. You may send these items in anytime (household objects, product labels, magazine pictures, etc.) Please label any items you want returned. We will be doing this with each letter in case you want to prepare ahead of time.

Let your child be the teacher!

Have them teach you the sound and signal for Allie alligator.

Milk order forms will be sent home this week.

August 29.

If you plan to participate in the program in the first quarter, please

return the forms no later than 8:15 AM Wednesday, Milk service (and hot lunch) will begin Tuesday, September 4.

Other Classroom News

Were starting at the beginning in Bible History with the story of Creation this week. With most lessons this year the children will have a coloring sheet to bring home. On the reverse side there is summary of the lesson and note for you. These parent notes offer activity and/or discussion suggestions that tie-in with our lesson. I greatly encourage you to make regular use of them. In math we will have circle time each day this week to focus on various aspects of the calendar. There will be a lot of time spent getting used to the general rules and routine of our classroom and school these first few weeks. Please let me know if your child seems confused or concerned by anything.
