SEPTEMBER 2012 NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents, Students and Teachers I am so excited to have you all back at the studio! I welcome you and have missed you! And everyone that is new to the studio, I am so glad you have joined us! I hope you had a great summer and I am excited for our awesome teaching staff, and the upcoming year here at Stone Gate Center for the Arts. Below are just a few things I want to remind you as our new Session starts:

Studio Director- Please understand that MOST of the communication from this point on will be emailed to you.
Please check your Studio Director account and make sure your email information is correct so you receive all correspondence. If you dont have computer access, let me know and I will get you a hard copy of any correspondence. Watch for our monthly Newsletter that will be emailed sometime the first week of each new month and will also be posted to our website. It is

Attached Calendar- I have attached a calendar of all the days this year that the studio will be closed or classes will
be different than usual. Please know that tuition is based on the total of classes in the session divided into the number of months. Some months might have more classes than others, but the tuition will be the same. I made sure that the classes get equal time in the studios. Please note the day of November 17 where we will be holding Monday and Wednesday classes. I will post times for that soon. And also, November 27 will not have Tuesday classes, but Monday classes will be held on that day. This is to make class times equal.

New Building Rules- Please look at the attached new map for drop off instructions and classroom locations. I am
excited to be here at Stone Gate and I want things to run smoothly and show them that we respect their beautiful facility. Stone Gate has asked that students not to go into or through the front of the building. Please use marked doors! Thanks! Also, please go to the blog and click on the Location/Parking page. Scroll down and there is a copy of this same map and also some rules I would like you to go over with your child.

Payment Drop-off- Remember that payment is due by the 15th of the month. Drop off any payments in the form of
check or cash in the stone mailbox on the West side of Stone Gate, or bring them to me at the front desk on the East side. I am thinking of setting things up so I can take debit and credit cards. Please email me at timpschoolofdance@gmail.com if you think you would use that service. I want to make sure that it is something we will use before I pay to set it up.

Studio Policies- Please go to timpschoolofdance.blogspot.com and look over our policy page. Some information has
changed and you need to be aware of it. You may want to bookmark this website. The blog will have a lot of information on it throughout the year. Check it often!

2012-2013 Performances- We will be doing two performances this year. Our Winter Performance will be Its a
Small World. This will be on January 21 at the Covey Center in Provo. Pictures will be held on Saturday, January 19 at Cory Adams. The Spring Recital will be The Wizard of Oz. This will be on June 17 at the Covey Center in Provo. Pictures will be on June 15 at Cory Adams. Please mark these dates in your personal calendars early so that your children can participate in these great shows! Costume fees for each performance will be $50 per ballet or combo class, $40 for Jazz classes, and $20 for Tumbling and Hip-Hop classes. They will be due the first week in October and the first week in March. There will also be a performance fee of $25 per student or $60 per family, whichever is less, due for each performance. They will be due the first week of December or before, and the first week of May or before. We are not including a DVD this year, so if you want a DVD, make note to order one. You will receive emails reminding you of all of this throughout the year.

Correct Levels- For the first few months of dance, please make sure you talk with your child about how they are
feeling in their classes. We want to make sure that each child is in the correct level. If your child seems bored or frustrated, please let me know and we will see what we can do about getting them in a different level. It is hard for kids to enjoy dance and learn what they need to learn when they are not in the correct level. The teachers and I will be watching this, also.

Dance Classes- Please have your child at dance on time and in the correct dance attire for their classes. If you have
questions on what they need to wear, check the blog or give me a call. Also, please remember to have them go to the bathroom before class starts. It is hard when children interrupt class. Also, please make sure to pick your child up on time. Teachers need to start their next class and they cant when girls are still without rides. If an emergency happens and you need to be late, please call me and let me know so we dont have worried little kids!

Referrals- If you know of anyone that is interested in signing up for classes, have them call me and tell me you referred
them. I will take $15 off of your account for the referral!

Beatles Mania DVDs and pictures- Our Beatles Mania DVDs from our Spring show are in! If you havent
picked yours up yet, I will have them at the front desk with me. A copy was included in the performance fee for that performance, so dont forget to get your copy! I will also have the pictures that havent been picked up yet. Thank you all so much for your support! This is going to be a great year!
