THE C WORD
The Cripps Committee has decided that one mustnt sit back and relish yesteryear following the recent collapse of News of The World. We will gratefully take up this mantle, providing essential information, inevitable corrections and invaluable opinion pieces on all matter of things. We look forward to compiling, semi-regularly, an exotic mix of constructive facts and ponderous nonsense that hopefully will reflect the day to day sensibility of our Room. CRIPPS IN 2013 Instead of flying home to the beautiful beaches of Perth, Balwyn or Coffs Harbour, your dutiful Committee has, in your absence, taken the word to Leeper and pushed through a new membership structure. Now membership will be free. FREE. There is one catch though: you have to tick a box. As arduous as it may be, we think youll deal. Ticking this box simply means half of your JCR fees will be allocated to the MCR. Its all very complicated, and well update you on all the specifics later but put simply theres a membership fee no more. Access to JCR services wont be affected in any way, so tick the box and come on up. Well be waiting. ON THIS DAY Almost 250 years ago, Captain James Cook set sail from Plymouth Harbour on his voyage. Discuss.

2012 UPDATES AND CONGRATULATIONS Members complain about Seans loud music when studying. Large sense of regret when this means our own study breaks must become a quieter affair. Will remains the only member to sign in on a regular basis. Ngarees friend runs naked through Haus Party proving Med students are the best at letting loose after exams. Rob, Katherine and Emma finish their theses awesome job guys! Rachel gets into the Melbourne Law School Jessup Moot Team. Is rewarded with a summer of study, seven days a week. Seb, Irini and Ross all gain grad jobs congratulations! Everyone else overqualified. REMINDERS As per recent constitutional amendments, The Room has remained open for members during the Christmas & New Year Holidays. If you are about, please pop in and enjoy a drink or two. Cash payments will no longer be accepted: all amounts owing must be transferred online. See Blake if this causes too much pain to bear. Keep calm. TA isnt the PM. Yet. Enjoy the all-round well-earned break, & lets chink glasses soon.
