Not the most exciting of races. The winner was able to dictate terms and sprint well. The fact that they came home in 33.89 meant that the others had no chance of running on. SHEZAHOTSHOT is knocking on the door and needs to find a race with some pace in it. DODGING EDDIE seems to be a non-winner. RUNDLE broke down in the straight and will be out of action for a while.

This may turn out to be a decent form race. The time was only 0.3s off the class record and they ran home in quick time. DISCREET took on the older horses here and was a class above even though missing the start. HOLLYWEIRD has come back in good order and had the perfect run in transit and can win a similar race this prep. WARRIOR GIRL was very good 1st up and got home really well after running into a few dead ends in the straight. FUSIL DE EVE and FELONY FLIGHT were ok. BRADBURY CHOCOLATE doesnt look like the same horse we saw last prep and is missing that lightning turn of foot.

Interesting race. They ran quicker time than the girls but that was perhaps due to the cracking pace that was set in this race. Any horse that got back further than midfield had no chance, as they ran home in a tick under 34. INDUBIOUS is a progressive type and provided a race to race double for the 3yos against the older horses. He is one to watch. KILWINNING OPTION was giving most of these weight and that probably cost him victory in the end. BEAUTIFUL TIMING and TOKAMAK both ran home well and will be a chance in a suitable race. CONFIDENT STAR wasnt suited by the barrier or the hectic pace of the race and still managed to finish 3.6L off them. BRIGADOON JACK was very poor and is better than that.

EQUISSENTIAL was down in class from LR and Qlty races at his past two starts and was the beneficiary of a clever ride to go forward with no pace on and no weight on his back. He was then able to sprint home in very quick time. NOISY OCEAN was good again taking into consideration the barrier and a weight rise from his last start win. EPIC DRAGON got home ok and looks as if he wants further. MY QUILTER has had his chance to win in his past couple and this level in perhaps too high. GOLD SHEARS was 2nd up here and flies at her 3rd and 4th runs of a campaign. She was in it for most of the straight before tiring late. Watch for big improvement next two starts. SECRET GARDEN is not a Doomben horse but didnt show much fight in the straight.

This race has raised more questions than it has answered regarding the Magic Millions. There is no doubting that MISSY LONGSTOCKING is the best two year old in Queensland but Driefonteins time in last years race under the same conditions was about 5 lengths quicker before going on to win the Magic Millions. When you consider that they only ran home in 35.13, you have to question whether the Magic Millions winner is in this field. SWEET IDEA led them up in a quick tempo and was very gallant in defeat considering the other horses on the speed finished well back. To put another question mark on the form, ARCHITECT has been well held at his 4 starts in basic 2yo company, had the worst run of the race, couldnt run straight in the straight and still finished 1.4L third. NORTHERN GLORY, EL TORANADO, and SIR LUMINAR all have potential but are lengths off the top line at this stage. PURRIFIC never wanted to be there yesterday and looks like shes had enough in her first prep. IM TOO SEXY also played up and franked the notion that the form from the Ballarat Clockwise race was poor.

A big upset here with the hotpot SIZZLING going under. Despite that the run was still impressive and the extra 50m in the Magic Millions 3yo race will be in his favour. LUCKY HUSSLER is a very smart horse and has got a bright future ahead of him. He was able to get a couple of lengths break before SIZZLING wound up. This probably decided the race. Horses 3rd to 7th were covered by only 1 length. HEZA JETSETTER and SALUTER keep rising each start and both fought home well. DANCES ON STARS was solid but looks to strike his best form a couple of classes lower than this. MISHANI PERSUADER seems to be looking for much longer than this while CALIENTE probably struck a more competitive field than her Mode plate win last start. LADY COLOURS and SNIPZU seem to be shadows of their former selves and seem to be at the crossroads. This looks to be a good form race.

ALMAS FURY was well placed coming off a 2nd in the Villiers and was well ridden, which was the difference over FILLYDELPHIA who had to contend with the wide barrier and significant weight. Her run was huge. DANAGAZE was good last start behind Mr Light Blue and followed that up here with another good run. He may pick up a similar race soon. FIRE UP FIFI loomed up to win but found taking on the males a bit too tough. She is still one to watch, especially in mares grade. CARRY ME BLUEY got home when it was all over but is struggling for winning form at present. MYSTICAL GREY is struggling.

It is hard to tell whether the fact that 1st and 2nd came from the two outside barriers means that SOMEDAY and SONS OF GOD are very good horses, or that the form is suspect. It seems to be a bit of both. SOMEDAY missed the start, was last and wide on the turn, and still managed to run down SONS OF GOD who had to do a little bit of work to get across from a wide barrier. DOUBLE IMPACT had every chance but is improving each start. If he can find a suitable race with a bit of give in the track he will be very hard to beat. VIKING HEART looks to have come back in good order and hit the line well again here. PLATINUM STATE took on the older horses and was shuffled back to last, got flattened early in the straight before hitting the line well when it was over. He finished 1.5L behind Sizzling first up and looks to have come back really well.
