TI10T1 Concept of Technology (Compulsory, 2 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies the development of technology and its impact to society. The study covers the definition and evolution of technology, technology and society, innovation, system and model, technology selection decision and social consideration, engineering, engineering design, engineering problem solving, human and social consideration in engineering design, and social problems. TI1101 Introduction to Industrial Engineering (Compulsory, 3 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies the definition of industrial engineering and the evolution of its approach in solving problem as well as discussing the manufacturing system which use as an object of the study. The study covers engineering, definition of industrial engineering, concept and scope of industrial engineering, evolution of industrial engineering approach, concept of manufacturing system, design of manufacturing system, operation and management of manufacturing system, industrial engineering education, profession and ethics. TI1221 Basic Industrial Engineering Design (Compulsory, 3 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies the method of documenting engineering product including all supporting information which can be used for industrial engineering design such as process planning, production planning, etc. The study covers introduction to design, design using CAD, geometric construction, sketching, lettering, lines, 3D drawing, orthographic projection, auxiliary views, dimensioning & tolerancing, tolerance and fit, assembly and exploded assembly model, thread, fastener, springs, Bill of Material, documentation and working drawing, parametric modelling. The course provides knowledge and basic skills for engineering drawing reading and production of Bill of Material of a product. This course involves CAD laboratory practices. TI2111 Work System Design & Ergonomics (Compulsory, 4 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies concept and method of designing a work system and ergonomic aspects of work system design. The study covers area of work system design, definition of ergonomics, work system analysis, work movement study, economic movement principles, work measurement using direct measurement and indirect measurement MTM I, II, II and MOST, work measurement using physiology, psychology, and biomechanics criteria, work measurement for indirect worker, influence of technology/automation on work system design. The study covers basic modern manufacturing process, casting process, plastic forming process, metal forming process, metal plate forming process, machining process theory, tools technology, machining machine and operation, grinding process, welding process. The course provides comprehensive knowledge on manufacturing process, meteorological aspects and product quality and provides ability to produce a production process routing. TI2131 Probabilistic Theory (Compulsory, 3 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies the concept and theory of probabilistic and probabilistic distribution forms as a basic analysis of problem related to industrial engineering disicpline. The study covers introduction to statistics and probabilistic theory, definition of events and sample space, objective, empirical and subjective probability, random variable, probability density and mass function, joint probabilistic distribution for multiple random variable, marginal probability, conditional probability, Bayes and Chebysev Theorem, expectation and variance, theoretical discrete single variable probability distribution: binomial, hypergeometri, uniform, Poisson, theoretical continue single variable probability distribution: normal, exponential, gamma, lognormal, Weibull, moment generating function and random variable function transformation, sampling distribution, t distribution, chi-square distribution and F distribution as an introduction to inference statistics. TI2231 Operational Research I (Compulsory, 3 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies the basic concept of model and modelling process as an approach for solving problem in a system and deterministic analytical problem solving method using linier programming method and its derivates. The study covers concept of model and modelling process, introduction to operational research, principle of optimization and the role of analytic solution for problem solving, linear programming: introduction, solution of linear programming using graphic method, tabular simplex method, determination of basic feasible solution and utilization of artificial variable for formulation of linear programming problem (including Big-M method and two-phases method), duality theory, dual simplex method, sensitivity analysis and parametric programming, matrix form simplex method, improved simplex method, algorithm for problem with restricted variable, decomposition algorithm, transportation problem, transhipment problem, and assignment problem: problem formulation and solution algorithm, goal programming and integer programming: formulation and its solution algorithms. The course provides ability in formulating problem in a mathematical model and ability in solving the model using deterministic analytical methods such as linear programming, transportation method, integer programming and goal programming. TI2232 Industrial Statistics (Compulsory, 3 SCU) Short Syllabus This course studies the theory of statistics and its application to solve problem in design, improvement and installation of integrated system. The study covers the role of inferential and descriptive statistics, introduction to inferential statistics, sampling theory, central limit theorem, sampling distribution, estimation process, point and interval estimation, basic of hypothesis test, process of hypothesis test including estimation of mean, variance, proportion, and goodness of fit test, regression analysis and correlation, variance analysis including block and observation analysis, one way classification, fixed/random effects models, two ways classification and introduction of experimental design, non-parametric statistics. The course provides ability in conducting hypothesis test, estimation process and provides basics knowledge in experimental design for solving problems in integrated system. The study covers computer functional components, computer architecture, computer network: topology and types of computer network, the use of computer and network for supporting business: intra-organizational systems and inter-organizational systems, the use of procedural programming logic. The course provides knowledge on computer organization and skills on designing computer algorithm and computer program. A computer laboratory practice is required for this course. TI3101 Industrial Engineering Design I (Compulsory, 2 SCU) Short Syllabus This is a laboratory practice course conducting in one semester and practicing the design of integrated system especially in product and process development system, and design of work system and production system. The practice covers market survey and product development, process planning, anthropometric and biomechanics measurement, works station design, work measurement, market forecasting, assembly line design, production planning and control. The study covers jig and fixtures type and functions, supporting principles, basic of clampings, basic construction principles, fixture design analytic formulation, clamping position and type determination, jig and fixture economics consideration, modular fixture system, fixture design for group technology, fixture design for gauging and inspection, fixture planning for CAD/CAM integration. The course provides comprehensive knowledge and basic skills on jig and fixture and dies design for machining and assembly process. TI4031 Internship (Compulsory, 2 SCU) Short Syllabus This course is an internship program in industry for 2 (two) months, follows by report writing and presentation seminar.
