EXT. MOTEL PARKING LOT - DAY A sleazy motel. A blue beaten hatchback speeds into a space, stopping with a sudden jolt. CHRISTIAN gets out, taking a box from the back seat. Christian (20), A scruffy hard up student. INT. OUTSIDE MOTEL ROOM - DAY Christian slips the key into the door and swiftly turns it. INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY - CONTINUOUS Christian places the box onto the bed. CHRISTIAN IM BACK! No answer -LATER -The door opens. Revealing -ALICE (20), Christians girlfriend, walks through the door. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Hey Alice. Alice hangs up her coat, walks to the mirror and sorts out her hair. ALICE You know I auditioned for that part in that film I told you about. Christian gives a blank stare. ALICE (CONTD) You know the one where the hoodies terrorize a college. CHRISTIAN Oh yeah, I remember. ALICE Well -- I got the part.

CHRISTIAN Congrats. Ive had a good day as well. As I was coming home I saw this jumble sale. ALICE Oh God what did you buy? You know we cant afford it. Christian gets up and walks to the end of the bed. He starts to pull items out of the box one-by-one. CHRISTIAN I got this beast of a camera -- I thought you could use it to practice on? Alice smiles. ALICE You did something useful for a change. CHRISTIAN Well you know. LATER -Christian lies in bed playing on his iPhone. Alice is practicing lines in the mirror. CHRISTIAN Do you want to use the camera now? ALICE Yeah Okay, Why not. Christian rushes to the end of the bed and grabs the camera. CHRISTIAN Smile. ALICE Hang on Im not ready yet. Alice covers her face with her hands. ALICE (CONTD) I have no make up on. CHRISTIAN It doesnt matter. No one is going to see it. Plus you look beautiful. (CONTINUED)

Christian turns on the camera. CHRISTIAN (V.O.) Action. Alice smiles. CHRISTIAN (V.O.) You have the cutest smile ever. Alice blushes. Christian and Alice laughs. Alices face starts to go red, she clutches her throat. Christian drops the camera and rushes over to Alice. The SOUND mutes and MUSIC plays. "True Love Ways" - Buddy Holly. INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY ON SCREEN: TWO WEEKS LATER An iPhone lays on the bed, it has a news site up. The headline reads "Young woman dies." Christian sits on the bed his head in his hands. He looks across the room, a sits on top of the T.V. on the label it reads "Alices final moments" written with scruffy handwriting. CHRISTIAN No -- I cant -- Pull your self together Chris. Christian gets up. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Fuck it. Christian is about to grab the tape --- KNOCK KNOCK Chris walks over to the door and opens it. An UGLY GUY stands there in green overall clutching a black bin liner and a broom, he must be the janitor. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Hey, can I help you?

UGLY GUY (rudely) I need to clean your room! CHRISTIAN Come back tomorrow. Im leaving then. UGLY GUY Okay then. He pauses for a moment. UGLY GUY (CONTD) Oh and sorry about your girlfriend. CHRISTIAN Thank you. Christian closes the door. The Ugly Man laughs to himself and walks off. Christian grabs the tape -- shoving it into the machine. The video plays. Alice smiles. He pauses the tape. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Why did you leave me? He strokes the T.V. Screen. A beat. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) I miss you Alice. A moment of silence. ALICE I miss you too. The tape is playing. Alice stands there looking at him. Christian screams and gets up. CHRISTIAN What. The. FUCK. How -- How -He falls to the floor, scrambling backward toward the wall. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) What?

ALICE I miss you too. CHRISTIAN How can you talk? Where are you? I thought you were dead? ALICE I have never felt more alive. You should come here, you would like it here. CHRISTIAN Where is here? Christian gets up and walks slowly toward the TV. ALICE A place where you are free to feel how ever you want. CHRISTIAN How do I get there? What do I have to do? ALICE Getting here is not easy, once you are here you can never return. Christian sits in front of the TV. CHRISTIAN I miss you Alice everyday without you, I ache, I cant sleep. A tear runs down his face. Alice is emotionless. ALICE If you come here we will be together forever. CHRISTIAN How? ALICE Believe in me, Chris. Just put your hand against the screen and believe. Christian puts his hand against the screen. A tear falls from his cheek. He closes his eyes. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) I believe. I believe. I believe. The screen goes white and it in a sudden... INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY - NEXT DAY? Christian wakes up with a jolt. CHRISTIAN What the fuck. He looks over to the tape. It lies in the same spot. LATER. The phone RINGS. Christian picks it up. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Hello. Silence. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Hello. Still silence. The phone goes dead. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Fucking prank callers. The T.V. Bursts to life. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) Oh god. Scared the life out of me. The picture shows an exact copy of the room he is staying in, except he is not there. CHRISTIAN (CONTD) What the hell. He walks over to the phone and dials a number. MAN (V.O.) Hello sir. The image on screen disappears.

CHRISTIAN Ummm... Nevermind. He hangs up. LATER. Christian is packing up his clothes and putting them in to boxes. He opens the doors and leaves. As soon as the door closes, the phone disappears. EXT. MOTEL PARKING LOT - DAY - MOMENTS LATER He puts the boxes in the boot. Opens the car door. Keys in the ignition. Into gear. Drives off. INT. TELEVISION ISLE - TESCO - DAY - LATER THAT DAY Christian walks down the isle slowly. He is about to walk out of the isle when he hears a noise -- all the TVs Turn on. They are all of the same room from the motel. The Ugly Guy walks in with a bag and starts to clean. We pull out slowly through the TV. We are now in the room on the TV. The Ugly Guy turns off the TV and puts the tape in a bag.
