iPads in the classroom

Earth Day at Camp Williams


The morning will feature a trip to MacDonalds Garden Center in Bennetts Creek, Suffolk. We will leave school at 9:30am, tour the garden center, pick out a plant to take home and plants for the Extended Day Garden on the back steps of the Fairfax Avenue lunchroom door. We will return to school and make our own lunch sandwiches, veggies and fruit for dessert. In the afternoon we will make bird feeders, plant flowers and make sock puppets from recycled materials. Weather permitting, we will take a walk to Raleigh Park and finish the day with a movie about taking care of the environment.

If the minimum enrollment of 8 is not reached by Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00am, the following sliding scale applies per child if 3- 7 children are enrolled: 3 children - $95.00, 4 children - $75.00, 5 children - $60.00, 6 children - $55.00, 7 children $50.00. -All fees are included for any off campus field trips, crafts, lunch, and snack. -By enrolling your child in Camp Williams, you are giving your permission for your child to attend the listed on and off campus activities. -Camp Williams staff may be reached on the Extended Day cell phone, 237-1875 or on Joyce Sorias phone, 469-7759 at all times during the day. -If you wish your child to have sun screen or insect repellant, please fill out the Medication Consent Form and send the product and the form in with your child on the day or days of enrollment. Forms are available from the front office, Extended Day or the website. -Please let us know if you will not be able to drop your child off by departure time, as there is no available care for your child at school.

**We will have early drop off at 7:30am for $5.00, extra. Reservations required!

TWS is proud to present a spring lacrosse club for girls in grades 5-8. Led by Ms. Adams and Ms. Nexsen, the club will meet on Olney Field from 3:30-5 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 20 and continuing through May 15. We welcome "laxers" of all levels and will focus on learning and developing mechanical skills and strategy through drills and scrimmages. Athletes will need a stick, a mouth guard, and protective eyewear. IPad/iphone Tips & Tricks Class (Spots Available for this Auction Sign-Up Event) Sunday, April 28th, 1-2pm, MPR, $35 per person Do you love your iPhone and iPad but feel like you're just scratching the surface of what they can do? Do you want to take better pictures with your camera phone? Do you want tips on great apps for yourself and your children? Trish Jones will hold an hour-long class that will cover tips beyond just the basics for operating your iPhone and iPad. There will also be a tutorial on how to take better pictures with your phone and a handout with descriptions on top apps for entertainment and education. Limited to the first 15 people to sign up; Class will be held April 28th from 1:00 - 2:00 in the MPR at Williams with light refreshments served afterwards. Students must have athletic shoes that have shoe laces or Velcro. They must also have a shoe tongue and be closed in all around. Be mindful that we do run outside and we are trying to keep all students safe while running. Appropriate shoes:
