PRACTICUM STUDENT EXPERIENCE

Implemented a program that utilized the use of assistive technology (visual aides, iPad, etc.) to aide in student communication. Implemented commercialized reading and mathematics curricula with students with severe disabilities. Partnered with general educators, special educators and paraprofessionals to review classroom procedures and to design adaptations to promote inclusion for students with disabilities.

Adapted and modified materials for students with learning disabilities in an ancient history class. Interviewed and shadowed a paraprofessional in order to gain an understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
