Lake Foluma
The village of HazorChashma is approximately 25 kilometers distant from Garm and is accessed by a 4WD vehicle. YOUR CAMPSITE: A campsite has been chosen close to Lake Foluma, which sits above the village of HazorChashma. Below the lake on the other side is a sacred burial site of a former saint called HazratiFoluma, which is located in a gorge and offers more great walking and hiking opportunities. Should rain interrupt your stay, a homestay will be arranged and the village accessed in a short period of time. Your weekend will be a combination of ethno- ecoand agro-tourism (in the agricultural sense) and will provide you and opportunity to interactwith villagers and shepherds who live in some of the harshest conditions in the world. We will do everything possible to make your experience here exceptional. COSTS: Cost per person for Saturday and Sunday is $120. This includes Saturday lunch, dinner, Sunday breakfast, snacks, guides (2), horses, organization and campsite fees. Snacks will be provided (you can make specific requests ahead of time).
Note: They are some of the best hosts in the world, there is ample to learn about tourism, in particular where fragile ecologies are to be protected from further destruction. It is intended to develop this and other campsites more thoroughly with the villagers and your financial support through tourism can contribute greatly to household incomes and, in the future, to valuable community projects.
