A 2-0 eighth-inning lead turned into a 3-2 loss at Carolina last night for the Keys, wasting a seven-inning scoreless gem from starter Zach Davies. The Mudcats walkoff win sent Frederick to 11-19 in one-run games this year, the second-worst one-run record in the Carolina League. Only the Mudcats at 6-16 are worst in one-run games. Keys all-star Eduardo Rodriguez starts tonight against Francisco Jimenez, making his first start of the season for the Mudcats. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Coverage of todays game starts at 6:45 p.m. on 1450 AM The Source and wthu.org.

KEYNOTES:
RODRIGUEZS RECENTLY ROCKY ROAD: Eduardo Rodriguez has been the ace of the Keys staff since finding his groove in May, but hasnt been so sharp in his last two outings. The Keys left-hander has allowed nine runs, just three earned, over eight innings in his last two starts. He also gave up a season-high 11 hits to Myrtle Beach two starts ago. Rodriguez did, however, throw a scoreless inning at the California-Carolina League All-Star Game in San Jose a week ago. OHLMAN PICKS UP POTW: Keys catcher Michael Ohlman was named Carolina League Player of the Week yesterday for his performance in the first series after the all-star break. Ohlman went 5-for-10 with a homer and two triples, drove in four runs and scored five against Myrtle Beach. Last night he extended his hit-streak to seven games with a single. DIFFERENT STROKES: The Keys and Mudcats apparently have different offensive philosophies, or at least thats what the numbers would suggest. Carolina leads the league in batting average at .270 but have hit a league-low 32 homers. The Keys lead the league with 70 homers but are batting .245, second-worst in the league. Frederick has scored the third-most runs (350) and Carolina the fewest (313). GONE FISHIN: The Keys must be happy to visit the Mudcats this week, after going 5-1 against the fish in the first half. Frederick swept Carolina in Zebulon in early May after taking two of three from the Mudcats in April.
