PUTTING AN E-MAIL IN ORDER

1 .The teacher will give each student the following e-mail but cut into pieces, they will
have to put the e-mail in order on their desks. The teacher will give them some
minutes to do the activity and will go round the classroom monitoring them.

Dear Vicky,

How are you? Did you enjoy your holidays in Paris? Send me some photos in your

next e-mail!

I had a great time! I visited London Zoo with my cousin Bruce from Hong Kong.

Two weeks ago my par ents received aletter from the zoo. The letter asked them

to adopt an animal! This means you give money every month for an animal’s

food. Guess what! They adopted a baby chimpanzee!

Yesterday may parents and I visited the zoo again. We wanted to see our

chimpanzee. The zoo keeper showed it to us. The baby chimpanzee`s mother

carried it near us. Then she brushed and combed it and dropped a banana in its

hand. Next our baby walked and jumped around. It was wonderful! I think our

chimpanzee liked us and I`m very happy we adopted it!

I must leave now. Write soon and tell me about your holidays...and don`t forget the

photos!

Love,
Ashley
2. Once the e-mail has been put in order, the teacher will give them a huge copy of the
e-mail written on a cardboard, the e-mail will be cut into 13 pieces and distributed
amongst the students. They are 26 students so they will have to work in pairs. Students
will have to put the e-mail in order on the black board in order to correct their own.
Once the e-mail is corrected, they will have to stick theirs on their folder.

3. Then they will have to answer some questions about the e-mail. The teacher will give
them a copy with the questions for them to answer. First they will answer on their

• Did they adopt an animal?
• What animal did they adopt?
• Did they visit the zoo again? Why?
• What did the mother chimpanzee do with its baby?
• Is Ashley happy?
