WHO ARE CELEBRATE LIFE?

Celebrate Life is an organisation aimed at creating awareness and facilitating

support across society to alleviate human and environmental suffering , this is

achieved by applying the energy of committed individuals, social networks and broadcast platforms .

The essence of Celebrate Life SA lies in the organisations respect for the environment, the land and its people. Founded by caring people, who have known and worked together for years, the purpose is to utilise their individual talents to confront some of the more serious issues facing our planet.

The initial project started 2005, with the objective of raising One Million Rand for a Hospice
based in Durban, simultaneously raising the profile of the institution and its dedicated staff.

PAST PROJECTS

This was achieved by the collective efforts of twelve women who carried out fund raising

activities for a year, culminating in the climbing of Kilimanjaro.

The second project, is to raise funds for The Tusk Trust. Besides the financial benefits to the Trust, of which Prince William is the Royal patron, the objective is to increase awareness of the Trusts projects and the plight of the Rhino in

PAST PROJECTS

Southern Africa.

One of the fundraising initiatives was that a group of women competed in the Lewa half marathon in Kenya. So far the project has gained significant media interest and public support. Celebrate Lifes efforts also have the backing of the KwaZulu-Natal based Sharks Rugby Team.

As Celebrate Life SA has developed, it has become apparent that in order to enable real change, the group must focus their energy on motivating and mobilising as many individuals as possible in order to align goals and to attract as much attention as possible. Identifying and adopting an appropriate cause and

providing solutions that are based on sustainable

principles and integrity will naturally gain the respect of the supporters of the causes of Celebrate Life SA.

Our solutions are arrived at through extensive dialogue and the mutual respect that exists between members results in us approaching all challenges

deserve.

Our established track record is evidence of our commitment to our causes. Our results and the

While walking along a beach, an elderly gentleman saw someone in the distance leaning down, picking
something up and throwing it into the ocean. As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, picking up starfish one by one and tossing each one gently back into the water. He came closer still and

THE DIFFERENCE

called out, Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing? The young man paused, looked up, and

replied Throwing starfish into the ocean. The old man smiled, and said, I must ask, then, why are you
throwing starfish into the ocean? To this, the young man replied, The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I dont throw them in, theyll die. Upon hearing this, the elderly observer commented, But, young man, do you not realise that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You cant possibly make a difference! The young man listened politely. Then he bent down, picked up another starfish, threw it into the back into the ocean past the breaking waves and said, It made a difference for that one. This simple story illustrates

how easy it is to make a difference. No matter how great the

challenge, the Celebrate Life SA community can and will make an impact through our tenacious sense of responsibility, our commitment and our passion for life!
