Curling in Las Vegas?

Darlene Barkley is hoping to put together a group of like-minded curlers, friends and family who would like to go to the Continental Cup in Las Vegas next year on January 16 to 19. According to the WFG (World Financial Group), The Continental Cup is a unique, Ryder Cup-like competition pitting six four person) teams (three womens and three mens) from North America (two from USA and four from Canada) against six teams representing the world, in a variety of curling disciplines over a four-day period team games, mixed doubles, singles, skins, and mixed skins, with each segment worth a specified number of points. Each side will also have a captain and a coach. The event will be at the Orleans Arena at Orleans Hotel and Casino. Darlene has made contact with a representative of Ludus Tours, as they can put together a rather good package that would include a Deluxe Hotel Stay at The Orleans Hotel & Casino/Excalibur or similar hotel, round trip economy flight from Vancouver to Las Vegas and a Las Vegas Tour Experience, including tickets to all sessions and the Curling Welcome Cocktail reception. The hotel stay includes a daily hotel Bbreakfast buffet, round trip airport transfer to and from the hotel, a curling fans exclusive happy hour party, a welcome goodie bag and information kit, ticket to a Vegas show, Ludus Tours onsite concierge service during business hours for curling guests. Darlene is looking for help to co-ordinate this event for members and friends if there is enough interest. She said it is important to remember a valid Canadian passport is required. Prices would be determined when she has an idea of how many people would be interested and where our departure gateway would be, ie. Vancouver, Victoria or Nanaimo.
