Appeal Letter

To the dean of engineering faculty - UPM: My name is Radhwan Bahaulddin Nooruldeen and I am a citizen of Iraq. I have applied for master degree in control engineering for this year. Unfortunately, I received an e-mail regarding my MSc application progress. The e-mail states that my application is not approved and the reason is my CGPA were is less than the required CGPA. I'm writing this letter hoping that the faculty will reconsider my application. I admit my grades of the academic transcript suffered as a result of poor academic performance, but I would like to explain the circumstances over the four years of my college study (1991-1995), the situation was very difficult not only for me but also for all students with similar academic years, for example the top student listed as first in our college earned an average grade of 2.8 CGPA. Please understand that my low CGPA that led to my unapproved application does not indicate that I am not qualified. Really, I was a good undergraduate who had one very, very bad situation. I have succeeded in my work after graduation as a process control engineer employed by North Oil Company / Kirkuk / Iraq, for 15 years and I am now a senior engineer in my field. My ambitions for academic study never stopped since graduation, but I was waiting for the best opportunity to pursue my academic degree. I hope you will give me a chance and I will use all my best with all of my practical experience once I feel that I can confidently tackle the duties of a full time postgraduate student. Thank you for considering this appeal. Sincerely, Radhwan Bahaaddin Passport No.: G1653443 20/05/2013 dhiadeen@gmail.com
