STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Education is a lifelong journey whose destination expands as you travel. In technical words, an
enormous number of challenges, thrown out by rapid development in science and technology,
have made me choose engineering profession. Ever since my school days, I’ve been interested
in design aspects of machine and its overall functionality so I made Mechanical Engineering my
choice as my bachelor study. Therefore I got an admission in state’s premium university as it
provided me a better exposure to the various specialties available in Mechanical Engineering
stimulating my abilities and interests. I stayed out of home for four years to complete my
bachelor study and I got familiar easily with the atmosphere and did not get trouble related to
study so I gave better concentration to my study. And I am very pleased with what happen with
me during my starting days because now I am able to stay away from home without having
homesickness.

In my undergraduate years, I've acquired a strong background in the fundamentals of the basic
Mechanical Engineering subjects like Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass transfer, Solid
Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, CAD/CAM, Mechanics of Machines, Design of machine elements
etc. I have also had an introduction to specialized areas like Finite Element Techniques and
Operations Research. I have also got deep theoretical and practical knowledge as there were
lots of practical lab session every semester which strengthened my technical knowledge. I also
take interest in extra courses related to study which help to get good job. I passed the
International Autocad Professional exam during study. Now I am confident of contributing
considerably to the growth of this field.

After completing graduation I want to study further, before that I also wanted to see where I
stand after completing my graduation therefore I started exploring for job. Mostly jobs are
relevant to production and lots of people who work with this field are having insufficient
knowledge and experience. I have more interest in production because I am fascinated with
accurate precision of manufactured parts and how it joints to each other. And it has great
future as quality inspector or assurance in any production line, because nowadays mostly all
products are in mass production. The concept of quality has evolved from simple production
line inspection to a broad approach to mass production. If I study relevant to this field this will
boost up my carrier in future.

Next step, I have to decide where to study..! In my country there are master courses but they
are more theoretical based and I do not want to waste my time by studying theoretical course.
While searching, I found that Canada is the best for my needs, because it provides specialized
courses with gaining practical experiences. And luckily I found one of my desired course which I
want to do, it is Quality Engineering Management in Lambton College. It is 2 year co-op course,
I will learn various factors related to QEMT like Lean production system, continuous
improvement techniques, Economics & auditing of quality system, six sigma improvement
techniques. This course balance the quantitative elements of quality engineering with a
managerial approach to using quality in an organizational to effect change. After completing
this program I will be able to apply modern quality techniques and procedures to solve
problems and enhance the quality and services. I will get employment opportunities as quality
inspectors, quality engineers, quality coordinators, quality technicians, quality managers, ISO
coordinators, quality supervisors, quality auditors and project managers. A professional of
Quality Engineering Management in India is usually getting the salary ranges between Rs 6 lakh
and Rs 12 lakh a year. However, the salary increases in accordance with experience and
position in related field.

Browsing through the information brochure and the Lambton college's home page I feel that
the graduate study in this college holds a lot of promise to me. The depth of the courses
coupled with a stimulating technical environment seem to me the right mix for theoretical and
practical work.

As I said that I was interested in Mechanical field from higher secondary education and it is
quite similar to the field of electromechanical. I had a desire to select better course which
makes my future brighter so I started searching courses in india and Canada. At last I selected
a course named Power Engineering whose subjects were similar to electromechanical. I got
admission in NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) college located in Alberta state for
Sept 2011 but could not go there because I did not get the student visa.

I had been always interested to pursue program of my choice with focus on vocational rather
than theoretical approach and hence I had chosen to study Power engineering tech at Northern
Alberta College after class 12. But at that time unfortunately my application was refused.
Respecting to the decision of CHC I did not re – apply at that point of time and paused to
ponder. My parents also consulted few of our relatives, their seniors, colleagues and finally we
came to decision that I would complete my bachelors here only in INDIA, my chosen field, I got
enrolled into BE in Mechanical Engineering and completed successfully with 63%.

Now again I am at a stage of my academic career where I want to pursue further studies in
continuation to my bachelors. As earlier also my parents and now me myself also are very clear
that I would like to study further in Canada only for reasons suitable to me, with emphasis on
practical approaches. The study decision to study in Canada remain steadfast then also and now
also, after doing cross – country comparison and India as well and hence according to my need
and recent qualification and future career plans now I have chosen to study Quality Engg
Management at Lambton College.
My parents are very happy with my step to pursue further studies in Canada and are prepared
to support me with all required support that I will need during my course duration. I have
already paid CAD 14470 tuition fees for one year and deposited CAD 10,200 in my GIC bank
account. Hence it’s a humble request to you to give me an opportunity by issuing a visa to study
Post graduate certification in Quality Engineering Management at Lambton College, Canada
commencing in September 2016.

Yours sincerely
