Title: Rapunzel Author: Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Setting: At the tower in a dense forest. Characters: Major: Rapunzel-the beautiful girl with long hair. Witch-the one who locked rapunzel in a tower. PrinceMinor: Husband/man-father of Rapunzel. Wife-mother of Rapunzel. Summary: Long ago, a man and his wife live in a small cottage, the couple had been childless for a long time after years of wishing the wife was due for a child. Beside their house there was a beautiful garden belong to a witch one dared to enter the garden out of fear of the witch. One day, the wife wish that she could eat rampions. As the days, passed her longing to eat rampions. She become pale and looked miserable. Seeing her miserable conditions, her husband asked her wife what's problem the wife replied that wants rampions to eat or rather she will died. When the man heard it he was frightened it is dangerous to climb over to the witch garden but he'll do anything just for her wife.

Towards evening, the husband went to the garden and uprooted the rampions. His wife ate the rampions with great delight but now that she had eaten rampions, she craved for more. So once again the man went to the garden to pick rampions but this time the witch saw the man picking up the rampions the witch really angry with that the man tried to explain everything and an idea came to the witch she said that the man may take many rampions as he want in one condition he must promise that they will give there first to the witch, In order to save himself and his wife, the man agree with the witch. Time passed the wife give birth to a beautiful girl and they happy. A few days passed the witch came to the man's house to get the baby as the promise the man give the baby to the witch and name it Rapunzel. Rapunzel grew up to a pretty girl. The witch treated her kindly. When Rapunzel was twelve, the witch was afraid that she would run away. So she looked Rapunzel in a tower in a dense forest . The tower has no door or stair to climb but only window at the top. When the witch wanted to climb will cried "Rapunzel, let down your hair" with that she would let down her hair like a ladder to climb the tower. One, day the Prince came to hunt in the forest. As he was passing by the tower he heard a beautiful voice he wish that one day he could see the singer. He looked around the tower to find any door but he could not see any door he decided to wait and see if someone would climb to tower or get down. And hours pass he saw the witch and now he know how to climb to the tower and she cried "Rapunzel let down your hair" and by that Rapunzel let down her hair she was surprised when she saw the prince, since that day the Prince was visiting Rapunzel. One day, the Prince visit Rapunzel and asked her if she want to marry the Prince, Rapunzel shyly replied "yes". Meanwhile, all this time the witch know nothing about the Prince. When the witch knew all about the Prince. Angrily, she snipped off Rapunzel's hair with pair of scissor. Then she took Rapunzel to dessert and left

her. The witch waited for the Princes and when the Prince climbed he was shocked to see the witch and said he never see Rapunzel again. The Princes jumped out of the window end fell on thorns. The thorns pierced his eyes and the Prince become blind. One day, while walking at the desert the Prince heard a sweet song he followed the voice and he knew it was Rapunzel. When Rapunzel saw the Prince she was so happy but when she found out that the Prince was blind the tears start to fell in her eyes. When the tears touched the Prince's eyes, miraculously could see again. And the Princes returned to his kingdom happily and they got married and they lived happily. As the witch, she remained trapped in the tower forever.

Moral Lesson: Do not be selfish to other because it may cause a trouble to your life someday like what happen to the witch.
