Informal: I will ask questions about the videos afterwards to make sure the students understood what was happening in the videos. 11. Transition a. Tell the students to clean up their mess and come to the meeting center. 12. Reflection a. How did the lesson go? I think the lesson went very well and was quite successful! The technology worked great and the students really enjoyed watching and listening to the book online. I dont think this is something that they have done before, so I think I will definitely do it again with another lesson. The students did not know a lot about the Chinese New Year, expect for remembering that they did something in Kindergarten. The lanterns looked great to decorate the classroom. The parade was a success as well. All of the students behaved appropriately under the dragon. b. What is something you would change for next time? For next year if I did this lesson again, I think I would make the lantern project more student friendly because the teachers had to do a lot of the taping because we only have two tape dispensers and didnt want to the students to use all of the tape on one lantern. I think glue would work better for putting the lanterns together. Also, I think we will make sure the classes are in the hallway ready when we come by because the students were getting a little impatient waiting for the classes to come out into the hallway to see the parade. c. Were the students engaged the whole time? The students seemed really engaged in this lesson, especially the videos. They all had a lot of questions about why things happened the way they do or what else happens during this time. I did not know all of the answers to their questions either because they were so curious, which is great to see. The students also were really engaged in the parade by making their dragon dance while walking down the hallway. I really enjoyed teaching this lesson.
