Program Management Oversee the overall operation of a community mediation center as defined by the Maryland Ten Point Plan; and implementation of programs and activities specified in CALMs annual application for MACRO grant funding. Including: Recruit, hire, train, promote, and manage employees, interns, and AmeriCorp volunteers for adequate staffing infrastructure within budget restraints.

Oversee the mediation case coordination and ensure accurate data collection and evaluation. Increase the overall impact and value of CALMs services through superior customer service and quality assurance. Develop and maintain partnerships in Frederick community to provide referrals, mediation sites, and opportunities to do presentations and trainings for conflict resolution skills. Sustain partnerships with State agencies such as CMM, MACRO, MSDE, MHIC, MHRC, DJS, and others in receiving funding, referrals, and training; and ensure accurate and timely reports are made as requested. Recruit, coordinate training, mentor, and assign volunteers as needed to tasks to meet organizational objectives. Maintain volunteer mediator roster. Co-mediate with volunteers as needed to ensure timely completion of cases; continue to acquire advanced training in mediation including certification as a mentor, group facilitation, and other specialized mediation skills. Identify resources to support CALMs services, both in-kind and otherwise.

Fund Development Formulate, articulate, and administer a development plan that employs diverse fundraising methods to secure funding for ongoing operations and special projects. Engage in prospect research, identify appropriate funding sources, write and submit grant proposals as appropriate; manage grants received to meet funders expectations and submits all reports as required on time. Coordinate a standardized annual campaign with Board; including Board pledge. Support Board, staff, and volunteers in fundraising activities to achieve optimum success. Facilitate appropriate linkages between board members and potential funders or ongoing financial resources including to accompany board members on calls to foundations and corporations for purposes of fundraising and public relations

Financial Management Responsible for ensuring a framework within which CALM maintains responsible financial accountability and reporting to government regulators, funders, Board, and public as required for organizations incorporated with nonprofit 501c3 status.

Draft and submit an annual operations budget to the board of directors Perform deposits and disbursements in a timely manner and provide documentation to bookkeeper for tracking in Quickbooks. Oversee the development and maintenance of reporting systems representing the organization's financial position to include, but not limited to: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, audits, and required tax federal filings. Maintain primary contact with a paid accountant, who will review bookkeeping records quarterly, submit federal and state tax payments and forms, and provide financial statements for board meetings With the Board officers, facilitate the provision and review of monthly cash flow reports, quarterly Profit/Loss, and bi-annual Budget/Expense Projection reports regarding financial activities and position to the Board.

Board Activity Support the development and maintenance of a strong and active Board of Directors to govern and raise funds to sustain organization. Facilitate the recruitment of new board members Attend and articulate agency status at board meetings as an ex-officio member Assist the board president in developing a board meeting agenda, reports, and other supportive tasks as requested. Attend and assist at committee meetings as necessary Facilitate the development of, and maintain the currency of, a comprehensive strategic plan as assembled by the board including implementing directives of the Board as part of Strategic Plan.

Outreach/Marketing Increase visibility and public awareness of CALMs mission and services. Develop marketing and communications strategies to promote CALMs services Develop and maintaining relationships with key local media Maintain a ready supply of promotional materials Serve as chief liaison with other community organizations and constituent groups

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum three years in leadership/supervisory position; nonprofit experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in a pertinent field, Masters degree preferred. Willing to train as a mediator.
