) Parents of Brandon,
I am writing to you about Brandons test scores. Currently, the class
average for Test A was 1330, and Test B was 1401. Brandon however received
a test score of 1300 for Test A and 1380 for Test B. Because he is scoring below
grade level expectations and has made less than average growth, Brandon is
being considered for SPED services.

2.) One of the sub skills that should be included in Brandons intervention plan is
Number and Operations- Fractions. We chose this sub skill because we looked
at the scores from test B and Brandon has missed multiple questions from the
Number and Operations- Fractions. When looking at the class average, 40%-
60% of students got those questions correct. We believe this is an important sub
skill that Brandon must master in order to succeed in advanced mathematics.

3.)

Monday Tuesday Wednesday
For the first 10-15
minutes, Brandon
can use the different
educational games
on this website.
There is a relaxed
mode that he can
use to ease the
stress. During these
games, we can
assess what he is
having trouble
understanding. We
will explicitly explain
the information he
does not
understand. To
challenge himself at
the end, he can use
the timed mode on
these education
games to help
motivate himself.
These include many
different applications that
can be downloaded on an
ipad or tablet. The different
apps are educational and
fun games that help
students gain a better
understanding of fractions.
We will use these different
applications because they
are real world scenarios
that include fractions and
will help Brandon connect
fractions to his life. This
lesson will be between 30-
45 minutes depending on
his engagement in the
activities. Being able to
work on fractions in a
casual setting will help
boost his self esteem and
motivate him to continue
learning.
Brandon will use this
useful website to go
through multiple
different lessons on
fractions. It starts off
with an intro for each
minilesson and then
continues to guide him
in the lesson throughout
the activity. At the end
of each minilesson,
Brandon will have a
chance to solve some
problems and explain it.
This way, he can go at
his own pace, and
always go back to
something if he is
unable to fully
understand a concept.

Thursday Friday
Brandon will utilize the Smartboard in
many different ways. We will have
some activities already set up for him to
complete. And some activities will
require him to manipulate on his own.
This is a great tool for Brandon
because he can visualize everything in
a new, fun, and interactive way.
We will use a screen sharing device, ipad
or tablet, to assess his understanding over
the week. We will provide questions that
increase in difficulty. We will ask Brandon
to solve each problem and show every
step using the screen-sharing device. The
questions will be basic mathematical
fractions as well as real world scenarios.
After completing the questions, he will
explain his work verbally. Through this we
can assess his full understanding and if he
needs further intervention.

4.) We believe it is necessary to continue Brandons intervention, but make some
changes to his plan. We can see that there are slight improvements but none
where he reaches the 80% expectations. Throughout the 5 probes, Brandon was
unable to reach the 80 percentile.
