Q8. If somewhat or very interested, describe what supports you need to implement Restorative Practices.
1 Supports are available. Need to use staff already at school. Aug 16, 2012 11:41 AM
2 We already use most of the practices. Staff would need training on using circles. Aug 16, 2012 9:07 AM
3 We just need more time to communicate and implement with some coherence
and consistency.
Aug 15, 2012 2:56 PM
4 Our primary need is to have the personnel (behavior coaches) needed to
conduct the program. The program will require both start-up time and resource
time to administer the program. Currently, we don't have the personnel for this.
Aug 15, 2012 4:54 AM
5 Support training during the implementation phase for staff. Aug 14, 2012 7:16 PM
6 We are a CFK school and utilize many of the restorative practices as our best
practices. Our school participates in the Cultural Competency training offered by
the district. We are focused on the "Power of Our Words," SES and Responsive
Classroom. Creating a safe, caring and positive learning environment is the
priority of the school. Our suspensions are with very severe (hospital) behaviors.

principal attended the training. My assistant principal said that we would need
more training and information to go in-depth with this practice.

the Restorative Practices books and/or videos and materials for teachers.

Q8. If somewhat or very interested, describe what supports you need to implement Restorative Practices.
21 I believe that if all staff members were trained, then behavior would be more
consistent resulting in higher achievement for all students.
Aug 14, 2012 9:18 AM
22 I will start this with my administrators and YSC director to focus on our students
who are returning from suspensions. This year's focus is about the Admin Team
becoming the experts.
Aug 14, 2012 9:12 AM
23 We would like some traing for our school staff. We also need copies of all
training material. If possible, we would like to see a model of how restorative
practice works.
Aug 14, 2012 9:11 AM
24 I think we are in good shape after the training. Aug 14, 2012 9:08 AM
25 I'm not sure at this point. Aug 9, 2012 7:31 AM
26 staff training Aug 9, 2012 6:39 AM
27 We, as a staff would need additional information regarding the specifics of some
of the Restorative Practice techniques. Also, to me, this program seems as
though it would complement a strong Positive Behavioral Instructional System
(PBIS), not replace it. So I guess the question is whether this is a complete
system or is it a strategy? It would also be great if we could have several
copies of The Restorative Practice Handbook so we could do a book study on
the system.

RP strategies.
Aug 6, 2012 1:28 PM

implemented with Care fo Kids. We will plan on continued use of Care.

36 I think what we need is for someone to distinguish what is different about
restorative practices to make this decision. The pd we received leads many to
believe that this is very much like Care for Kids, and many of us already have a
lot of these practices in place. So what is different about this that would help us
to better decide if restorative practices is something we need to delve into
further? I am not sure this is clear for all of us.
Aug 6, 2012 11:55 AM
37 We currently implement activities and strategies from CARE for Kids. We do not
have a major issue with behavior but we do have those students who are difficult

to reach. I believe that the Restorative Model would support the ESL population
more effectively. Many behavior issues are a cultural response. I also liked what
I learned at the Professional Development last week. I would love the opportunity
to pilot the program
38 Would like to have 12 books for staff and formal training by the district. Aug 6, 2012 11:12 AM
39 We would want to meet with an implementation team to determine how to
implement this practice without affecting instructional time. We would need to
talk more to staff before making a decision. Much of it we are already
implementing throughout CARE and other behavioral interventions (RTI). I am
not able to commit at this time, but am interested in exploring it further.
