This week we will continue to complete the weather board each morning as part of our circle time routine. We will talk about the current days weather, observe it and put up the appropriate label to say todays weather is sunnycloudy! etc. We will also review all of our weather vocabulary from last week with focus drawn towards the trickier words that were perhaps not used as much, such as rain drop, snow and snowflake. "s per our usual routine, we will sing the good morning song and some of our favorites to ease into the day, such as twinkle twinkle and head, shoulders, knees and toes. The last song is particularly relevant for this weeks topic. This will involve the teacher calling teacher says touch your %e.g& head or arm.! The teacher will touch the body parts with the children and then make a mistake on purpose and see if the children follow the action or listen to the spoken word. "t first it will simply be an e,ercise to get the children physically knowing the body parts. -or a fun activity which will make a great display in the classroom, we will look at hand prints. .ach child will make hand prints with orange, yellow and red paint. "ll the prints will then be cut out to form part of a big sun. The hands and fingers will be positioned like sun rays. #arious games with flash cards will be played as the children have fun associating the pictures with the .nglish spoken word. We will continue with the letters and sounds as e,plained in the phonics section. !e"iew We will really focus hard on getting to become e,perts with phase one of 0olly *honics. This will cover the Ss, "a, Tt, (i, *p and 1n sounds. The children are really becoming familiar with the sounds so it wont be long until we can move onto phase two and start looking at the work book. " few more games and songs will be used in order to confirm all children get to grips with all of the si, sounds. The pink pig cake! and the noise of the aeroplane! are the latest ones to be introduced. The 2olly phonics melodies, T*+ actions and flash cards will all contribute to the learning.
