This week in circle time we will review
transportation, days of the week and all of the
grammar used in the previous unit
!e are going to do some warm up games that
will focus on this and do lots of TP" which will
practice such things as actions, commands and
colours
!e will #e reviewing the songs in the first two
$olly phonics phases and doing our usual
physical warm-ups to gain focus at the start of
the day%class

Phonics

This week we will not #e covering any new voca#ulary as we will #e focusing on reviewing
all the three letter words covered so far These will include, an, at, ap, am and
ag words
)f the children have fully understood the first two phases of the $olt phonics programme we
may move onto look at phase three These sounds include, ., /, 0, 1, & and 2
)e*iew
This week we will look at initial sounds to
match various o#$ects% pictures The
sounds will correspond with phases one
and two learnt with 3olly Phonics so far
These two phases cover the letter
sounds S,4, T, ), P, 5 and 6%7, E, +, ",
M, and 8 !hen the children have fully
understood the letters and sounds, their
reading skills will improve dramatically
This week in phonics we will also continue to
look at the ag three letter word families
This will include the words #ag, wag, tag and
rag /nce the children understand the
voca#ulary with the use of the picture
flashcards, we will then start to play games
to learn to read and recognise the words on
their own
