So what's up with this weather? If it's going to snow, it should
snow good and proper. My little principal in training is missing out on some excellent photographic opportunities before he grows out of his snow suit (already can't quite zip it up. A little bit snug around his belly and shoulders lol). In saying that let's all cross our fingers and hope like crazy that there is enough snow up that mountain for the ski fields to open. We missed out on skiing last year due to bad weather and we don't want a repeat due to lack of snow! We have tentatively booked our trip for Week Three of next term. Juniors (Years One to Three) on Tuesday 5th August and Seniors (Years Four to Eight) on Wednesday 6th August so please mark these dates on the calendar. A notice will go out with all of the details week one of next term. As of yet we have not received information from Turoa about the prices this year but I expect that they will be similar to last year - usually about $30 - $40 for lesson and full hire of gear. It is also important to note that the school will also contribute $20 per child attending. Here's hoping we get to go :-) Just a note too, we have had problems with our website domain name provider which cut off both our website and emails for the last two days. The problem has been fixed now but it does mean that for the last two days we have not received any emails and they are now lost in cyber-space. I just wanted to let you know just incase you sent myself, Kerry or any of the teachers emails as we would not of received them. We are not ignoring you we were just cut off for a short period. If you did send anything can you please resend and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible. This also means that any of you who responded to our survey yesterday it would not have worked. So sorry but could you please fill it in again. For those of you who haven't responded to our survey yet, please take the time to do so, the link is on our Facebook page, we really value your feedback and it would only take five minutes of your time. Finally just a reminder of the fun sort that if it is a snowy day please make sure you encourage your kids to bring a change of clothes. Basically it's compulsory for all Waiouru School students to play in the snow on a snowy days, and we have a really good hill for sliding :-) Oh, also gumboots and snow boots are part of the uniform on snowy days :-) Have a fantastic winter break and we will see you all next term.
