Re: Work Plan and Cost Estimate to Develop a Manual on Training for Teaching English
Writing for Teachers.

Dear English Language Arts Department Chair:

As you requested, I am providing this work plan and cost estimate to develop a manual on
Training for Teaching English for Teachers. On the basis of our recent discussion, the
following proposal includes information on my understanding of the required scope of work and
my work plan, as well as a cost estimate and my qualifications to write this manual.

Scope of Work
I understand that my scope of work will include the following:
Explaining how to write an analytical paper or essay
Explaining how to use process of analysis to improve critical thinking.
Explaining how to use point of view or perspective to a students advantage
Explaining how to improve syntax, tone, and diction in a students writing skill.
Illustrating how to
Differentiate between various symbolism and archetypes

I will not explain how to teach a class in a formulary manner because this varies depending on
the teachers teaching style. I will also not include any cost estimate on school supplies or
training for the new teachers because this varies depending on the school district.

Work Plan
I will complete five tasks as I work towards completing the Training for Teaching English
Writing for Teachers manual.

Task 1: Receive Approval for manual from the Superintendent.
I will turn in the proposal to the School District Office for approval by the Superintendent.

Task 2: Choosing and Organizing Subjects
I will start by organizing the various subjects and lessons by order from structure of a paper to
detail of the content.

Task 3: What Makes a Sentence and How the Subject can be Taught
I will break down what makes a sentence and the various kinds of sentences made in a writing
passage.

Task 4: Illustrate process of analysis
I will write step-by-step how the process of analysis work and how to encourage a students
critical thinking skills.

Task 5: Differentiate between writing devices
I will demonstrate how symbolism, archetypes, allusions, etc. are used and can add to the detail
of a story or writing passage.

Task 6: Writing the Instructions Down and Suggest Lesson Plans
I will take notes as I research the material, which I will use to write step-by-step instructions on
how to improve students writing skills.

Schedule
The photography portion of this manual and the actual planning of the manual and lesson plans
will take approximately 3 hours. Downloading the pictures and writing the text should take one
week. That will leave a week remaining for me to revise and rewrite the manual.

Cost Estimate
As a student enrolled in TECM 2700, I may print four multiple page documents in color. I may
also have use of the binding machine. Therefore, I will have no charges related to printing this
manual. The materials for the teaching English writing manuals should cost, including paper
cases and toner, approximately $30.

Qualifications
As a student enrolled in TECM 2700, I have the necessary expertise to write a technical
document of this kind. Im also an English Major pursuing a Bachelors in English Creative
Writing and a technical writing certification. I currently have an Associates Degree in Arts.
