regardless if one may or may not agree with what Mr Michael Smith stated I view the media 15
should not repress factual comments merely because some people might be offended by it.

We seem to so to say sanitise what a person like Michael Smith states and dump them while
those promoting a Jihad, etc, somehow can do so freely.
In my view there should be a close look at 2GB as being competent to hold a license if it
interferes with the freedom of speech in such manner. 40
In my view Mr Malcolm Turnbull the minister for telecommunication ought to investigate the
matter if 2GB has not overstepped the mark in regard of its conduct against Mr Michael Smith.
As I never heard Mr Michael smith there is no bias by me in that regard.
To stifle freedom of speech merely because some people may not like to be told about facts
never should be governing fair and proper reporting. In fact to suppress fair and proper reporting 45
is to facilitate dictatorship, etc.

I read about the dumping of Michael Smith, who I have never heard on radio (no bias
there) but as a CONSTITUTIONALIST I am concerned of the denial of his constitutional
rights:

If his comments were factually correct then I view 2GB violated his constitutional rights
and that is of concern. 15

I support Michael Smith's assertion that by today's non-Islamic social, moral and legal
standards Mohammed was a documented child sex offender and paedophile. Smith shoud 40
not have been punished by radio station 2GB for expressing his factually correct opinion
and right to freedom of speech. 2GB's program director, David Kidd, demonstrates his
ignorance and limited intelligence by referring to Mohammed as a "Deity" when he was
merely a human religious teacher, and a sexual deviant with questionable ethics.

Broadcaster Michael Smith has been dumped from a guest slot on radio station 2GB
after he referred to the prophet Muhammad as a paedophile.

Smith had been booked to present Chris Smiths afternoon program for three weeks 15
starting Monday.

However, he has revealed on his website that 2GBs program director, David Kidd,
phoned him on Friday evening and allegedly said: We wont be needing you, you
cant call a Deity a paedophile. 20

Mr Kidd declined to comment when approached by Fairfax Media on Saturday.

Smiths controversial outburst came during an on-air exchange with Ben Fordham on
Thursday. The prophet Muhammad was a paedophile, a pederast, a sexual offender, 25
a man who promoted the idea that it was OK to marry a six-year-old and consummate
the marriage when the little girl was nine. And thats written into their books, its part
of the philosophy ... the Koran. Its factually correct, he said.

Smith remarked that he was legally permitted to make the comments having 30
previously been cleared by an Australian Communications and Media Authority
investigation, following an almost identical rant when he was the 2UE afternoon host
in 2011.

But his latest blast triggered a barrage of angry calls from listeners, and led to 35
scathing criticism from veteran presenter Ray Hadley at the start of his program on
Friday morning.

I value the worth of this station in the community ... and sometimes Ive been guilty
of tarnishing its reputation ... for that Ive apologised, he said. ... I want to go on 40
record today and completely distance myself from Mr Smiths comments as well.
Yesterday I was insulted by what was said ... and Ive got to speak out against it.

Smith, however, is refusing to apologise for the comments.

He said on his website on Saturday: Ive thought about what I said in answer to Bens
question. I think its wrong for a man in his 50s to have sex with a nine-year-old child.
It is wrong, its a crime and it should be called out for what it is.

Smith told Fairfax he stands by his on-air words and the comments that followed on 50
his website. He said he was unsure whether he had also now lost his guest slot on
Fordhams show in the future.

The short answer is I dont know ... but regardless, Bens a top bloke and well
remain the best of friends no matter what, he said. 55
